This is the illustration work of Chris Turnham. Colours, drawing, technique, everything sums into an amazing style, unique and where  lady Yuki looks awesome in the sets too. Animals, people, landscapes and characters are always placed into quite smooth and light compositions, where technique becomes beauty. Check the web site and blog, you’ll probably like it a lot too.

This is New Giraffe City a really cool doodle illustration web site made of clouds, mountains, monsters and dreams. I am particularly fond of this line of work, doodles with an intense personal approach. The story line is great, that thing about the devastated planet, clones of animals, space ship cities and it goes on with huge creative power. There is a shop too with t’s and prints. I love this particular one . Coolest thing about this work is that it really makes me wanna spend the weekend drawing doodles

Our love for Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon is endless and wordless. We just love it. Josh Parpan from Pasadena is a CalArts graduate, designer/illustrator, working at Nickelodeon in Burbank. His illustration style and theme are simply great, specially these Tom Black Bird series with this awesome “The Mudmincer and his two giant chef cats, Grog and Trog”.

This is the work of Ronald Kurniawan. The mastery of digital + pencils is really good, pretty well achieved and it makes me totally jealous. Some of my fave works are the awesome Optimus Prime doing Math and the Psyop pitch boards very Dark Side of the Moon style (Storm Thorgerson way). Doodles rock too, really cool again with pencil mastery.

This is the amazingly interesting illustration work of belgian artist Sebastiaan Van Doninck. The style is quite unique, not the common place we sometimes have to visit over and over. The work is full of small animals, people and odd monsters, always created with a genuine love for illustration itself.  Techniques are awesome and chosen themes too. Please check the whole work at his web site http://www.sebastiaanvandoninck.be/

This is the work of Carol Rivello, designer, illustrator and art director. One of the things I like the most about this web site is the way it seems to reflect the artist’s persona. Communication, site design and the work presented at the portfolio area, function as whole that indicates the way the designer/ artist feels about it. Works are great, I’m very fond of this Brazil graphic feel and this is one fine example. So, go check the work.

These are the stunning organic forms achieved with the simple use of feathers made by Sculptor Kate MccGwire. At a first glance, looks like a nested serpent, but the texture and the wrongness of the feathers creates the question: what is this? And that is disturbing and extremely fresh at the same time.

This is FULL Creative web site and what an inspirational one. There is almost anything I do not like in their posture and company concept. Type on their web site is great too. This is how they present themselves “FULL Creative is a digital creative agency headquartered in Portland, Oregon. We’re committed to finding creative solutions for our clients and creating beautiful interfaces along the way.” Worth a check.

Red Velvet Art is an online and local store run by sisters Elsa, Emmie and friend Rachel. It’s an original art store that sells art, prints, accessories (very cool brooch of Eleanor Rigby), fashion (very cool polka dot dress), stationery, home decor, music and lots of other cool stuff. Place looks great and it is always inspirational watch something that started as selling hand made items in music festivals, turn out into such a cool place. You go check their store, it’s quite worth the visit as their web site is quite cool too.

We were surfing our own posts (!) and we found that MOPA has got some brand new work on their web site. This is their suppa cool campaign for Fiat: “T-shirts and caps designed for Fiat Winter 2008 line, curated by SPFW production. The project is inspired by broken futuristic predictions of the past. We mixed a lot of childhood memories from 80’s cartoons to cool music. We brought the concept we called «Il Mondo di Domani» (Tomorrow’s world in Italian) where we figured out how important are those predictions as they improve our imagination through all these years of innovative thinking in several fields of knowledge.”

Check this really cool web site and approach to creative work. As in the words of Duirwaigh Studios “… specializes in products and services that inspire creative consciousness. Wielders of wonder and merchants of marvels, we endeavor to knock at the door of the human heart, re-minding ourselves and each other that once upon a time is really here and now.”

I am amazed with this sense of weirdness and danger that comes from Coarse toys. Toy design is awesome, box design too. Jaws and Paw look great, no wonder they are huge in Japan. You can sense a Manga feel but there’s this not 100% Japanese approach too and that is where the weirdness comes from. So dark and agressive.
Picture above is taken from the Loser Twins series, variation on the Jaw head colour. Box for this set is simply amazing with tops varying accordly to the Jaw colour. Check Coarse web site, you’ll love it for sure.

A personal fave, Urban Medium has got a brand new line of Che Troopers busts, according to their web site “by public demand in black” and six very cool flavours. Stickers of Che Trooper are a must have on any Moleskine cover, you will enjoy taking them to meetings.

This is the amazing work of Sergio Mora. We’re impressend with the mixed influences converged into a personal approach achieved with this line of work. He explores magic with demons and sometimes, you can even find Frida in the magic realms. Check his web site, it’s quite interesting and worth the stay in such a magical work. “Benditos sean los Malditos” is “hellacool”.

When I checked an email from my coworker at neozine* and visited the artist´s page I just standed in pure awe. Strangeness but recognizable way to portray a family, I thought. Hiding themselves from the looks, disguising themselves within the wallpaper, being the idea of a home, a perfect one. Catching the difference between what one thinks of a family and what they really are. Technically is awesome. Looks like a photoshop work in 3D real life and well… This is just the purest poetry. Hope you enjoy

Awe! C´mon! Michelle´s Work at his showcase web site is simply awesome. Those Heffalump weird Elephant constructs are simpy great. Graphic design quality is unquestionable and illustration-design techiques with a hand-crafted approach are even better. That organic style… great. Really cool to present it at neozine*

This is the visual blog of Tiago Albuquerque for his illustration work. Style and Technique is great. He can wanders from a borrow retro 50´s to a political style and never loose the concept and main idea. The blending and theme accuracy is what makes the style so unique. Mostly centered on Portugal´s political frame and personalities, this particular piece is quite cool, Left vs Right :-D AH!AH!

Bec Winnel´s style is really good. Her pencil technique is great, she masters portraits with great skill. But that´s not all, her unique illustration theme portraits women in a very sexy manner, very fashion but in a pixied and faery likeness. Having it on a pencil and paper creates a very original line of work. Visite her web site, marvel with her work.

I personally enjoy Tigz Rice illustration and photography work very much. Besides being quite Gothic, it always presents a kinky side or let´s say… kinky atmosphere. This mix between dark and kinky is evolving as the artist´s photography and illustration composition are evolving towards new levels. We asked Tigz to comment her own work for neozine* so here are some words about the work by the artist itself: “My name is Tigz and I just graduated from Westminster University with a first in in Illustration. I´ve always been fascinated with all things technological and so the shift into digital arts came really naturally to me. Despite coming from a very traditional fine arts background with oils and charcoal, I hated the mess it all made and the amount of time paint took to dry so when I discovered Photoshop all hell broke loose!
I´m a very experimental artist and love working with different textures to see what I can turn them into. A lot of the textures within my Wonderland series for example are photographed at the the V&A Museum in London. My digital SLR is my most valued possession (after my mac of course!) and between the two pieces of the equipment I come up with all kinds of stuff!
My work is really dark and has a macabre edge to it, which a lot of people ask me about. I´m a huge fan of the work of Tim Burton and Dave McKean, and of course the Harry Potter series, and I think its all just rubbed off on me! ´´.
Well, go check her web site and enjoy the dark.

We enjoy very much the work of Jesse Kuhn AKA RawToast Design. It´s cool, looks good, technique is great and there is always a clever approach to all work concept. From his bio “Jesse has been recognized and honored through several appearances in illustration and design annuals including Society of Illustrators, Creative Quarterly, Applied Arts, and CMYK magazine´´. This particular work here, of which I´m very fond has got the suggestive name “A Beacon of Hope´´. Go check his inspiring work.

Another Huge Personal Fave, Estúdio Mopa from Brazil with their incredible creative power, constantly pulling their work toward new levels between Illustration and Design. Here we present their Visual Identity work for Fernanda Ferrugem inspired in Jane Birkin 60´s Movies. Their photograph style to present their own work is also really cool and original. What´s not to like in Gianluca´s Work? From Manga to V as Vendetta BD style or Gorillaz, to this tremendous cool retro 80´s Tron meets StarWars illustration, everything fits in my taste as I could almost say the artist has been compiling what is on my visual brain. Coolest thing is that is on most of our visual brains too. Go visit his work, it´s pretty amazing.

In 2005 we’ve interviewed Hello Von and 4 years later the style could not be better and more astonishing. Technique is perfected, characters expression too. The characters dynamics are so strong, that you always get the idea of movement. Coolest thing? After 4 years evolved into a graphic design – illustration with such a strong poetic vein that shows how his talent cannot stop growing and stop surprising. Please visit the artist´s web site and check our 2005 interview too.

This is the impressive work of Marcos Chin. It presents us some calm, some stormy atmospheres and surroundings, with amazing technique on characters. Most known works are the illustrations done for Lavalife´s international advertising campaign; appearing on subways, billboards, print and online. I am quite fond of hair treatment and character expression, very well achieved.

“If I worked from home in 1983, I would like to think my desk would look like this, but I know I would never have been this cool. Check out the Return of the Jedi glasses, neatly arranged on the top top shelf. So awesome.” Excerpt from Retroist

What I thought architecture was has definitly changed in my mind after my wife showed me the work of Terunobu Fujimori. I cannot even imagine the world without it after I´ve seen it. Amazing.

Tremendous photography work by Danish Photographer Kim Høltermand. One can find poetry in cityscapes, urban buildings, nature and concrete as you may see in Grundtvigs Church, bellow picture. I could not find a better way to start my work day. Tops.

This is the work Fernando Chamarelli, brazilian designer and illustrator from São Paulo.
I´m pretty fond of the civilzation crossing that he achieved with his style. The surreal ambience is well achieved too as the characters and styles impose the cultural mix.
